I suggest you transform guitarix into a full LV2 plugin by the way, no need to split it into sub modules as you did for LADSPA. The main guitarix window / UI is good enough as it is and it would be amazing as a full LV2 plug.
Hi

Thanks, but I must admit that I wouldn't transform guitarix to a LV2 plugin, but guitarix is a open project, anybody how won't to do this job, could join the guitarix development team. :D

Many thanks, yea we will work on it to improve it back to the old functionality, it's a question of free time for develop in the moment. :?
I'm to busy with other task's at time.

Hi funkmuscle

Could it be that you work with real great IR files, how high is your CPU usage when work with guitarix ?
How high is your mem ?

hey brummer, good to have you back. haven't heard from you in sometime...
I think you're right... for some reason, an IR files I used once seems to launch which was about 512k.
it was never an issue before... cpu usage is low and the mem I let guitarix select.

this one is an average size I use:

mediainfo Mesa_00.wav
General
Complete name : Mesa_00.wav
Format : Wave
File size : 33.3 KiB
Duration : 257ms
Overall bit rate : 1 061 Kbps

Audio
ID : 0
Format : PCM
Codec ID : 1
Codec ID/Hint : Microsoft
Duration : 257ms
Bit rate : 1 058 Kbps
Channel(s) : 1 channel
Sampling rate : 44.1 KHz
Resolution : 24 bits
Stream size : 33.2 KiB (100%)

jad wrote:Hi brummer and thorgal,

I am not sure as to how to make this map more ergonomic. The current client visibility is not optimal, you have to click way too many times, and there are bugs as thorgal mentioned (client sub-branches not consistent, portmap not updated on the fly while already opened, etc).

But no big deal, just mention it when things are back to the level of functionality it used to have and I'll be more than happy to test things :)
Hi Jad

I have update the portmap widget to fix the live update. Note that you can simply use the tab and arrow keys to browse the clients, select (open/close) the expanders with the enter key.
Only clients with more the 4 ports will shown as sub-branches for better overview.

funkmuscle when do you get this message, during play, during when you stop guitarix or when you try to start guitarix ? did somthing happen befor ?

btw. instead logout or reboot you could stop jack and run then as root :

Code: Select all

sync; echo 3 | sudo tee /proc/sys/vm/drop_caches

Hi

Today I have add a parametric 10 band EQ as input filter, . . .

ciao brummer,
maybe you could _replace_ the 10 band EQ by the parametric EQ you had just included ?

and to make things proper: add a pre - post toggle button so one can decide whether to apply the EQ pre or post effects. I am sure funkmuscle will also agree ;)

guitarix is really sounding awesome with IR files.... I compare it with the vsts I have that uses IR files and I like guitarix better. :D

hi thorgal , funkmuscle,

Okay, done. :D
The old MultiBandFilter was ever a parametric EQ, I have just hide the quality settings. Now we have 2 EQ, on for input, and one for output, you could also use them both at same time.

Additional I have add a Stereo Moog VCFilter, hooked in the output behind the convolver, check it out with high level distortion and overdrive.

Yeah, I've been playing around with it too the last few days. Downloaded the IR files package and it just sounds so good.

AutoStatic, what IR files are you using??

I got really great free ones here:
http://www.guitarampmodeling.com/viewfo ... 7afad11741

register for free with the forum and any link with a paper clip usually has a file to download in a .rar compression.
I just grabbed these Engl E 412 V 4x12 Impulses and will be trying them out with guitarix soon.

Hey funkmuscle could you share your IR files collection? :) I'm feeling lazy clicking and trying random links.
