Howdy all you good people ;)

Post by funkster »

Cheers,

I'm Raphael from germany's south-west.
I got hooked on linux not totally 2 years ago. Although I've tried to use it once before, by means of surely well known distro called Agnula-DeMuDi. It was all way over my head then.
Came back to GNU/linux 2007 then, because I'm kinda fed up how MS/Windows and other closed source software developers try to enforce things on you, don't offer decent choices for configuring the software the way I like, and a few more things (invading copy protection schemes being only another one of them).

Hope to learn a few things here and that my quest for a linux DAW will finally come to an end, in the sense that I'll hopefully be able to configure my system the good, reliable way. :)

Looking forward to some good time hanging around.
Raphael ;)

Hello Raphael!

Long time no speak.

I hope you're well, and welcome to LM.

And it's a good time to thank you for all the help you gave me when i started my linux journey. I'm not sure i'm any wiser, but i'm getting more work done!

Hey Alex,
nice talking to ya again. How's the weather in Moscow? Must be friggin' cold there, no?

Really, you don't have to thank me for anything. The little knowledge I have is mainly due to people willing to share theirs. And you're certainly one of the most willing to learn and adapt things I've ever seen. You're way farther down the linux route than I am right now. ;)

But all is good, I'm upgrading my PC the next week (finally) to a Dual-Core system and I'll be hunting down the knowledge to finally get creative work done on linux.

I'm really looking forward to your (and other peoples) input I will receive.

Have a nice weekend,
Raphael ;)

And i hope you have a great weekend too :P

Alex.

p.s. Moscow's been hovering around 0 degrees, and just dipped down to -5.

Time for a swim in the Moskva river i think.
