just the one: Debian testing with realtime kernel, Fluxbox window manager.

I totally agree, but for me this applies for general use as well: why waste cpu time on eye candy when it could be used for real work?

And I just like minimalist anyway :-)

Ubuntu Jaunty on my netbook, Hardy on the two internal servers, Debian Etch on the webservers (currently upgrading to Lenny), Intrepid on the accounting PC, Jaunty on my office/graphics workstation, Lenny (rt-kernel) on the mastering system and 64Studio 3.0 on the mastering dsp-extender.
Quite a mess, actually :-)

And also a minimalistic environment leaves less room for errors, I think that's the more crucial aspect when it comes to live.
