I thought it would be a nice idea to try to use rooms to organize one of my studios on ladish. Added a room, a projet, saved the studio. But when I restart the studio, rooms are empty and I have to reload projects manually.
Haven't found any option to load projects upon studio start.
Is it a current limitation or am I being a noob ?

I guess you already read the tutorials:
http://www.penguinproducer.com/2011/12/ ... n-handler/
and:
http://ladish.org/wiki/tutorial
I haven't created any rooms or projects yet because I don't understand the concept. I use a studio as a song, so for me each studio loads that song and all related apps and their files.
I think this is the wrong approach though, as I am also very new to this.

I found the not-autoload projects annoying too, but i haven't ever managed to make it happend. Rooms are useful to have a set of plugins or stuff loaded in a separated environment so you can just pass the audio in the room to have that sound. Not a bad idea.
He had a lot of nithing to say, we'll miss him

Re: Ladish : Studios, Rooms and Projects
@b4rney : yeah I already checked those tutorials but nothing about auto-reloading projects.
@hellalive : that's pretty close to what I was trying to achieve : cleaning up the studio by boxing signal chains in rooms. For example : one room acting like an instrument with the room containing a synth, an arpegiator, effetcs, etc. Now each of my rooms are acting like a stand-alone instrument but I have to reload each one of them manually when reloading the studio... not very convenient at the moment
Would be great to have an option to assign "temporary" or "permanent" projects to rooms to serve both use cases.

Its a current limitation. You can script ladish commands though. You can do it at least with the commanline interface ladish_control.DoosC wrote:I thought it would be a nice idea to try to use rooms to organize one of my studios on ladish. How you imagine the "load projects upon studio start" option? Does it imply that references to specific projects are saved along with studio, or its about loading project that was last used in specific room?

Hi Nedko !
Wow there are more and more linux audio VIPs in this forum
I didn't know about ladish_control. Seems like a powerfull toy ! I'll definately give it a try.
About the auto-load feature of projects maybe the simplest way of impleting this would be to have the option to pin projects to rooms. So this would be like a per room option. And if the option is ON by default then you end-up with last-used projects auto-reloaded in rooms. And yes this way reference to projects would have to be saved along with studios. A plus would be the abilty to choose an alternative path in case the project folder has moved.
What do you think ?
