How to edit LV2 metadata

Hi all, can anyone tell me if LV2 currently supports metadata "tagging" and if so is there a tool to do it?
There must be some form of metadata in the plugins as they are automatically organized in Ardour, it is just that they are poorly organised, there are multiple headings for similar things such as "Dynamics", "Compression" etc.

I heard that tagging would be a part of LV2core in the future, or perhaps there is an extension somewhere?

It would be neat if Ardours plugin manager could read and write metadata.
