AV Linux/Ardour Success!!!

Hi people,
Just writing to enthuse about my good experiences tracking vocals this weekend, entirely in Linux for the first time. I was using stock AV Linux 5.0.3 on a $400 laptop I bought in 2007, with an E-Mu 0404 usb soundcard. My processor never went over 11%, and my latency, if Ardour is to be trusted, was a jaw-dropping 2.7 ms (I can hardly believe that was true, but I certainly didn't detect any latency by ear). Granted, vocal tracking is super easy (no vsti's, no midi, no effects, etc), but I still couldn't believe how easy, fast, and clean JACK and Ardour were. Emailed my stems out at 12:30 last night and woke to an email from the producers about how great everything sounded. Done and done. Microsoft, Apple, Steinberg, Ableton, eat your hearts out.
