digging back up this old thread. I'd like a loop based sequencer plugin for drum sequencing. Something like the seq24 or hydrogen's interface. An arpegiator would probably help some folks and possibly a looper. If a timeline type plugin were implemented Carla really could be a full daw!

Hey that's the ticket. It would be nice to also have a drum-oriented one (with gm kit instead of piano roll), but this will get the trick done. Thanks.

Blame the LV2 specification. It's shocking how something as basic/fundamental as data storage/organization is so horrendously ill-conceived and unwieldy. But then, he did make the absurd choice of turtle for a storage format, so there's no limit to how bad it can get. And it's gonna get bad when Wayland takes over. (Not because of Wayland though.)

What's wrong with Turtle? Edit: I broke this out to a new thread, please respond there.

I second the call for a mastering suite. Is there any way JAMIN (the jack audio mastering interface) could be converted to a plugin?

But there are nevertheless quite a few decent VST freeware synths out there for Linux and the situation is not entirely dissimilar in many cases.

The unfortunate view seems to be "oh but the synth should have patch handling integrated" but that isn't necessarily going to be the case, (OBXd is a great example) so it's a sad situation we're stuck with. Yes I know there's a long-winded faff to get the VST version to sort of handle patches but it's hardly elegant or intuitive for 99.9% of users.

Nobody seems to be interested in fixing what's been a major ball-ache for the users who actually want to use the gear as opposed to debate it on forums or get into the lost cause of begging devs.

What does it offer that a handful of plugins can't do?
Seems like a waste of time really, especially when you look at what is going on with commercial mastering tools like Ozone these days.

I miss the standard for C++ build system and package manager. CMake and Conan kinda work but they have many downsides.

I'm wishing a PHP tool that prevent us for grabbing out threads which are older then 4 years and 10 month and try to reanimate them without adding any contend.
