Linuxsampler
Very interesting project, use, edit and make samples in *.gig format
This statement from the LinuxSampler Web page concisely describes the project's aims:
"The LinuxSampler project was founded with the goal to produce a free, open source pure software audio sampler with professional grade features, comparable to both hardware and commercial Windows/Mac software samplers and to introduce new features not yet available by any other sampler in the world."

edit: I've tried a piano sample and it sounds really really cool! Better then a soundfont...!?

Linuxsampler
Hi
I check out the cvs-version yesterday. It work realy nice. Qsampler change and load .gig-files without "can't set every cannelsettings", no messagewindow pop up to tell me
that something is wrong with the connection to host. Everything is work like a charm.
I am impressed.
That's why I also build jsampler classic and who, that's great, with jsampler I can create multi midi-in and also multi audio-out channels. Thats nice for routing the singnals to other apps.
So I am look out for some free .gig samples and find some cool stuff.

Re: Linuxsampler
hi
Andreas Persson have add experimental support for running LinuxSampler as a DSSI, LV2 and VST plugin.
How nice, we can load linuxsampler as synthplugin in Rosegarden(DSSI) or Ingen (LV2). For controll the sampler we could start qsampler or jsampler. I have check it out yesterday and can say it run well. Only missing direct support for the GUI, but like I say you could load the GUI over the commandline or the menu and load your gig-files.
So now we have one more synth for the LV2 interface.
thanks to andreas

Re: Linuxsampler
check out the cvs-version.
you find the pluginlibs under "linuxsampler/src/hostplugins" after compiled. to run them simply install them in your dssi or/and LV2 directory and load them in the host (Rosegarden, Ingen, . . . . )
