Hi everyone,
Has anyone here used the Samson Studio GT speakers?
http://www.samsontech.com/samson/produc ... /studiogt/
I've googled for an hour and can't find anything to indicate whether the USB interface can be used for recording & playback under linux.
Anyone else tried them or know of someone who has?
If not, I'll try and convince the local distributor to lend me a pair on a trial basis and find out.
Anyone used the Samson Studio GT monitors?

well, you should defenatly do that anyways, to hear how thwy sound in your environment.getresults wrote: If not, I'll try and convince the local distributor to lend me a pair on a trial basis and find out.
One thing though, those thingies are more like a multimedia boxes than monitors. You wont hear anything in the low-end, unless you buy a combining sub.
I would go for a 8" woofer. Yamaha HS-80, KRK or even Behringer if you are not willing to spend too much.

Re: Anyone used the Samson Studio GT monitors?
The manual says no drivers are required for Windows and the interface is only 16 bit, so I would expect it should work on Linux. They are not going to be the best studio monitors, but if you don't have any recording gear then you are getting monitors and an interface with mic pre-amps for not much money. The spec says the mic inputs have phantom power, but I don't see an switch to turn that off.
If we can get confirmation that they work then we can add them to the wiki for future reference.
