Just got an M-Audio Delta 66
I've been posting here for ages about various interfaces I have considered and been updating the wiki with information I found. This week I finally got one. I bid on a few Delta 44s on ebay that went higher than I wanted to pay, then finally got a 66 for less than the others. I also managed to get an Omni i/o box which gives me lots of connection options and some pre-amps.
I went for the Delta as it is so well supported and, sure enough, it worked straight away on my Kubuntu 11.04. I installed alsa-tools to get the Envy24 Control mixer. I'm still figuring that out. There are a lot of faders and you have to have the right ones up to get all the signals in and out.
I did a quick test before I got the Omni. I just plugged the headphone out of my guitar amp into the interface. Got a very clean signal

Now I have the Omni I've tried plugging the guitar straight into that and tried some sounds in Guitarix. Still working out how to get good sounds with that. I don't have the latest version, just what was in the repo.
I'm happy so far and I hope this is going to lead to more and better recordings. I shall be sure to update the wiki with any useful information I find.

Yeah, that's already on the wiki, along with a few more links I've found. There are other implementations of the Envy24 mixer, but I have not tried those yet.
I need to do some more reading of the various sites and the M-Audio manuals to try and get the best out of this gear.
