Yo

Post by Buminatrain »

Hi Ryan from SoCal US here. I've been using linux for music production about a year and a half now. I have an amd Phenom X3 64 8650, 4 gb ram dual monitor setup, with a tascam US-122 as my primary interface supported with a midiman Oxygen 8, behringer ub802, KRK Rokit 5's, Line 6 Pod-Xt, a couple of different direct boxes/tube preamps, a bag of shure mics and a mess of cables ruining the fen-shui (how do you spell that?) of my room. My Current system is an Ubuntu Studio 8.04 64bit after having frustrations with software being out of date on debian (etch) and lack of stability in (sid) ive decided to run this setup for a while... still have some frustrations with programs functioning but am slowly working through everything and at the same time allready thinking of giving studio 64 a try.
I mainly produce Rockish music but vary into funk and electronica or any other genre that happens to cross into the part of my brain the gets inspired.
I've been looking for a forum of this nature for some time and hope this place can really take off!

I can't wait to hear some of your tunes. Behringer is a great brand by the way that's what I use too.
