Hello,
Well like the subject title says, I'm Kevin. I own some guitars, a mandolin, a drum set, and i have frequent access to some bass guitars and a keyboard...I can barely play any of them...lol. Let me say that right now i am currently not a linux musician. I have strong desire to be though. I just got a new dell studio 15 2 gig processor, 4 gig ram, 320 gig HDD, and ...ugh windows vista. Like music i'm not too savvy when it comes to computers and I'm having a heck of a time trying to figure out how to dual boot Vista and Ubuntu Studio. Also i have no idea how i'm going to get my IAXE USB guitar to work with Linux but i'm sure there's a way...right? Well I hope to become familiar with you guys and ,what looks to be, a great forum. If anyone is curious about the music i like here's my lastfm page:http://www.last.fm/user/Foo2/ Oh i'm from Indiana.
kev,
I'm Kevin?

Welcome Kevin!
Good to hear that you want to install a dualboot, which is a good choice first. You can just use your windows and start to explore linux. I also started that way, and I'm now working for 100% on linux

edit: I think your usb guitar device should work unther linux... from now on, check if the hardware you want to buy is supported by linux
