Hi,

How do you make your backups?

I have an external drive of 160 gb. I want to copy my whole root filestystem to it and syncronize it constantly with my internal hard drive (250 gb). It would be nice if my external hd is also bootable. I'm on Debian.

I found this: http://www.linux.com/feature/117236

How can I backup my filesystem everyday?

But maybe it's better to backup my home as a tar file. How can I make it script with different time settings for automatic backup?

example:
1.

Code: Select all

mkdir -p /Backup/FW
2.

Code: Select all

rsync -aHv --exclude=/proc --exclude=/dev/kmem the-ip-address:/ /Backup/FW/
