Drumkit for Hydrogen

Hi. I'm creating a drumkit for hydrogen (actually the first I create - kind of experimenting), based on some samples of Sonic Reality's Reality Drums. Added a little reverb using Ladspa's Freeverb 3. Here is a short demo. Still not multilayer, but sounds pretty good.

Can we download the kit somewhere?

I would gladly offer it for download, but I think the sounds are copyrighted (they are from a Sonic Reality CD that I bought).

Am I violating copyright laws if I offer it as a download?

You could offer the drumkit without the sounds. People who has bought the same sounds, can use it I think...

I could do that, although I don't find any practical purpose on offering the drumkit without the samples...

The practical purpose is in the fact that is only is usable for people who bought the same samples

OK, I'll post it, in case there's someone who has the samples.

How can I post it without the samples? I know how to backup a drumkit in a h2drumkit file, but I believe it would include the samples by default.

If you want a really cool source for sound/drum effects that you can use in Hydrogen (without being subject to 'intellectual property' BS), check out http://www.freesound.org/. I've made a couple of sets using their sounds. If I can dig them up, I'll post them.

Hi,

i would like to add a note here.. the most samples from freesound.org are not really "free". Well, they charge you no money for use, but you can't do anything with them because they are licensed under the CC sampling license, which permits the use of your work in advertisement (if i remember correctly). I wrote an article about licensing and hydrogen drumkits yesterday, it is not finished yet, but you can read the recent version here:
http://hydrogen-music.org/devel/wiki/do ... rumkits%3A

We have some problems with non-free kits or kits without proper licenses at the moment, so everyone who considers to distribute his hydrogen kit should be very sensible for those issues..
