Yeah, theater organ is somewhat of an aquired tast. Usually when you hear a pipe organ it is of the church temperament. But if your taste isn't in pipe organs, then perhaps this will tickle your fancy more:studio32 wrote:mmh funny organ, but I don't like the sound immediately...

Personally I like this rendition of the song better. Not bad either especially since he isn't playing an organ...but a wannabe.

Now the scary thing is that overall the second version of the song sounds better!
Anyway there is a reason for that. The instrument is a Yamaha P-120, a piece that I hold in high regards. The P-120 was the first digital piano I overall loved. It has great sounds, and it feels like a real grand piano too.
Enjoy!
Oh! I am going to shoot over to 64 Studio now and sign up. I guess I will see you over there as well as here.

I got the X-Fi to work under ALSA in Ubuntu Studio
Hello again all,
It looks like I am going to stick with Ubuntu Studio for a while longer.
There is a fix for the Sound Blaster X-Fi sound card in the Hardy Heron (version 8.04) of Ubuntu (studio) to get the card to work with the ALSA drivers.
So as of now being that I do have my sound card working in Ubuntu Studio, I am going to put off purchasing a new card or changing distributions for now. I may still do so later, but for now I reached my goal and that was to get the Ubuntu Studio applications to work and to produce sound.
My explorations today are new, so I don't know how everything works, but for those interested in getting the X-Fi to work with Hardy I posted the links to the procedure under the "Hardware" heading here.
It has been a long road (over a month for me), but now I do finally have sound using the ALSA drivers.
