jackdmp is a C++ version of the Jack low-latency audio server for multi-processor machines. It is a new implementation of the jack server core features that aims in removing the limitations of the current design. The activation system has been changed for a data flow model and lock-free programming techniques for graph access have been used to have a more dynamic and robust system. We present the new design and the implementation for MacOSX.
hmmm, ~ jack2 (there is netjack within i hear)

In my experience, both client and server works fine, even if the source is old.
default ncurses client come with alsa support, but you can also try unofficial jack patch (i use this patch), internal mixer, metronome, chat. you can also save the session in ogg file
me and my friends sometime "gig" remotely using our private ninjam server or
http://ninjam.com/jamfarm/index.php, and it's funny

The llcon software enables musicians to play together over the internet. The way it works is that there must be one server which collects the audio data from each client, mixes all together and sends the mix back to each client. ...
