I agree with you in testing the 'miracle patch' here no latency benefit and actually it created a minimal but noticeable delay in UI responsiveness on my machine. I believe it's better to allow this kind of thing to get into the mainline kernel before employing it in a DAW, at least users know it's more than hype if the Kernel devs bother to include it.

At least, this is the main reason why I prefer real-time kernels, because of the irq-handler stuff.
