Hi all,

Hopefully no-one minds if I drop a link to my new video tutorial to seq24; if you're not sure what seq24 is, or you've tried it briefly in the past and couldn't get past the initial confusion, this should help! I've posted it on my blog, along with a downloadable WebM version, here:

http://wootangent.net/2010/10/linux-mus ... 24-part-1/

or you can jump straight to the Youtube video here:

I would rather say this is the best place to post this and that you should be praised instead of being sorry

Just a quick note of praise for pneuman's videos on seq24. First-rate stuff there, everyone should check 'em out.

Also, there's a new version of seq24 at https://edge.launchpad.net/seq24/.

Best,

dp

it's not possible to record midi-events?
a shame, i liked the silmpicity of seq24.

tried qtractor but i don't like the piano-roll nor has it quantize-option.

seams I have to stick with Rosegarden until Ardour3 (if it comes one day lol)

I'm not sure what you mean exactly -- you definitely can record MIDI data from a keyboard in to seq24, and you can quantize it either while recording, or afteward. I cover that in my second tutorial video, which I forgot to link here:

http://wootangent.net/2010/11/linux-mus ... 24-part-2/

or directly via YouTube:

As far as Qtractor goes, it definitely does have a quantize feature, at least in the current 0.4.7 version.
