Remote control devices
I'm just getting into recording, but am already encountering issues with controlling the DAW whilst trying to sing or play an instrument. I know there are dedicated devices for this, e.g. Frontier Tranzport, but I already have things like Wiimotes and an Android phone that should be able to give me some functions.
There's an old story about Wiimote support in Ardour that requires compiling from source. Was that ever included by default? I've got a USB Bluetooth dongle for my PC.

More recently there are apps to turn an Android phone into a midi controller

Is anyone using these? Any tips?

Re: Remote control devices
That's another option, but I don't currently have one. Just trying to use devices I do have.spm_gl wrote:Have you considered simply using a wireless computer keyboard?
What would be really neat would be an Android app that could also receive from something like Ardour so you could see things like what track you are recording to. I'm assuming that OSC has that sort of capability. It's not something I know much about, so I'm just speculating.
This was partly prompted by seeing stuff about TouchOSC, but the Android version is not available yet.
