That's quite a nice computer. Im in the same situation as you allthough my computer is not gonna be as good as yours. I've been looking for a soundcard too, but I don't have the money for a really good one yet. :) If I had the money and ffado supported it (they are planning to), I would buy RME Fireface 400 but you never know when they can come up with a decent drivers..

From the cards you listed I don't see any other supported (or attleast listed to be supported) than the digiface with the HDSPe PCI card (yes you need the card). Check out this alsa matrix for RME cards http://www.alsa-project.org/main/index. ... Vendor-RME. http://www.alsa-project.org/main/index.php/Matrix:Main for all the cards. Never used any of these products but allmost every review says RME is really quality stuff so you cant go totally wrong if you choose to buy the digiface..

Well I dont want to steal your post but I've come to conclusion that I will either buy a new focusrite saffire pro 24 or used RME multiface with the PCI card.

I think I will most definately buy the multiface if one comes available within a month or so. Seems like the best solution for my budget. I can use my fast track pro as a mic preamp with it.

Or does someone strongly recommend focusrite saffire pro 24?

I wouldn't recommend getting a Saffire Pro 24 at the moment, support is still in an experimental stage. I've tested both the Pro 24 and the Pro 40 and the Pro 24 has some issues: http://subversion.ffado.org/ticket/311
And I have to file another bug report on these config.rom messages I keep getting from time to time.
The Pro 40 seems to work better, haven't run into any real issues. But then I didn't stress it yet.
