This behaviour can often be turned off by muting a channel in alsamixer - have you tried that?

Are you intending to use JACK? IIRC it does not support this (something with synchronized clocks on the cards), though you might be able to 'trick' it via ALSA.

I didn't explain it well; this interfase is like a mixer, so in the headphone out you hear the main out always, it's tricky because if I lower the volume of the headphones, I lower the volume of both signals and if I lower the input volume it affects the level of the processed signal. So i don't think I could do anything in software to mix the signals properly.

Yes, sorry that I didn't mention it, I use JACK (Rakarrack and Qtractor mainly), I don't know how to do that "trick" in ALSA.

Thanks for the answer

I can say I solved it. This is what I did:

I've read many things and got really confused because I'm not a programmer.

On this link I've found this paragraph that was exactly what I was loking for
http://manpages.ubuntu.com/manpages/luc ... ckd.1.html
Run jackd in full-duplex mode using the ALSA hw:0,0 device for playback and the hw:0,2 device for capture.

jackd -d alsa -P hw:0,0 -C hw:0,2
So what I did to find out the names of my cards was running on a terminal

Code: Select all

aplay -l
and type the command on the quote on a terminal substituting the names of the example for the ones of my cards.

As it was uncomfortable to open a terminal and typing the command everytime I created a launcher which I launch before opening Qjackctl.

If anyone has a more elegant way to do it I'd be very interested to know it, for instance, not having to use any launcher and leaving the action of the command as a preset.

Hi Matías, I gave you an answer in hispasonic.

You can use qjackctl to construct the whole jackd command. In this case, choose the input and output devices on the right column.

Cheers! Pablo

Thanks Pablo. I found a flaw on my solution, i was kind of expecting it to happen. The iinterface's name changes each time it's pluged into the computer. I have to read about getting a fix name for the interface, I've found a link but I know it will take long hours of comprehension from me so I think I'll do it in some days.

I even made an icon for the launcher in inkscape, LOL, it's pretty good though!
