Hi,
people here who use this card? How do you use it with pulseaudio, just with totem and youtube for instance?
And for some reason the hdspmixer doesn't lauch, can't find an hdsp device, all though the output gives the card (and an onboard card)....

Re: rme hdsp 9652
I have both versions, the old project hammerfall, and the new hdsp. It took me two days to figure out that they use completely different drivers, because I had swapped them around. I first had the hdsp installed, then put it into another system and stuck the rme9652 in. So make very sure you have the correct module loaded.
The hdspmixer only works with the new versions, I found that out the hard way too.
Once you have the correct module loaded, you could set aliases and default outputs in your .alsarc(?)

Then you can't use hdspmixer and hdspconf. Make sure the rme9652 module gets loaded. Then all your inputs and outputs should appear.

It doesn't have an onboard mixer, so might aswell use alsamixer. But then you really should do some .alsarc magic, so you know which in/output you are addressing. I don't bother, I have an external mixer anyway, or I use Ardour.

Re: rme digi 9652
hdspmixer is not a software mixer, it is a program that controls the hardware mixer on the hdsp card. Thats why it only works with the new version.
You can use alsactl to set the sample rate, sync reference and spdif output on the digi9652. Its not as pretty as hdspconf, but you normaly only set the card up once.
