Some electronica...

Post by danny-g »

Following up on my 'hello World' post above, http://soundcloud.com/bass-akwardz/ points to some stuff I've done recently using UbuntuStudio Karmic Koala.

I better make it clear before/if you listen, though, that my trend at present is 'electro-satire' and some of the messages in the trax might be considered offensive to some (though there's zero swearing, violence or sexual connotations, I assure you, at least in the presently accepted mainstream meaning of these phenomena). This is intentional and I make no apologies to anyone who suffers cognitive dissonance therefrom/with etc. ;-)

However, I do vaguely sort of apologise for the rather sketchy nature of the 'productions', particularly the drums, as I'm just getting the hang of Hydrogen (I suspect this app has vast capabilities!). I am also immensely enjoying interaction with that wonder of ergonomic design, Qtractor.

Did I say hi already? Great to be here! With my immense ignorance of most things Linux (but devout Ubuntu user since Hardy Heron) I doubt I'll be of much real help here but at least I might bend your ears ;-)

ps: note to Louigi - really love your sounds - do you have a collection point anywhere?
edit: scrub that, just found http://www.louigiverona.ru/?page=projec ... ogue&num=0

Yeah, hey )
Nice to see a similarly-minded musician ))) I am really glad you like my stuff, such positive response is rare, naturally!

LOL - yeah, life 'out-on-the-fringe' used to be lonely - not any more ;-)

Once I've got this raucous political stuff out of my system, I too will get back to the delightful obscurity of chill out and ambience.

ps: If anyone who can tolerate my noise is wondering whether I can actually play or not, the present juxtaposition of tight loops and sloppy riffs is deliberate - suits the global mood right now, IMO... ;-/
