Contour Multimedia controller jog dial

Post by starfry »

Anyone using one of these Contour Multimedia Controller Xpress or Multimedia Controller PRO v2 on Linux?

I've no idea how they work, whether they are MIDI or are seen as a keyboard or something else. If anyone has one it would be great to hear your thoughts of using it with Linux.

My use case mostly will be to spin audio and video back and forth while learning things. I've no idea if this is even possible (I've read VLC can't go backwards at a frame level but chunks of a few seconds would be fine). I'd like to do this with player like VLC and browser-based media players such as Youtube, Vimeo and other things.

Say I'm going over a piano lesson and I want to jog back over video... that's the kind of use case I have for this device at the moment.

if anyone has any opinions, please share. Thanks!
