Can't you create a single sfz with multiple audio channels?
Wow, looks like you can. I think I'll update my project to implement a single sfz file, with instructions about how to route the channels.
The link I gave is about sfizz~ which apparently is not sfizz. Regardless, sfizz has a 16 audio-channel-out lv2 plugin version. But I thought you'd know:

Note that sfizz does not support the hichan / lowchan SFZ opcodes by design. These two opcodes are required to have different per-channel sample selections in a given patch See this discussion.

Well, that was way easier than I thought it would be. I updated the project with a full_kit.sfz file and instructions for setting up sfizz with multiple stereo output channels in Ardour: https://github.com/michaelwillis/tchime ... a-drum-kit
