Issues Running EZKeys 2 on Linux with Wine

Post by bluesrocker »

Has anyone else experienced issues with running the new Toontrack EZKeys 2 on Linux via Wine and Yabridge (I've got Wine setup to emulate Windows 8 )?

Attempting to open EZKeys 2 from the desktop icon or menu gives a momentary spinning icon and then no fuether response. When I attempt to open via the VST within my Reaper DAW I receive the EZKeys 2 splash screen and no further response. It appears to lock up at the splash screen.

All of my other Toontrack products seem to open and run fine - EZDrummer 3, EZBass, EZKeys (original), and EZMix.

Can you run it from the command line and see if there is any useful output there? E.g., here is how I would run the Spitfire library manager at the bash prompt (I use an external SSD for those libraries, with its own WINE prefix):

Code: Select all

$ export SPITFIRE=/media/tseaver/spitfire
$ cd $SPITFIRE/drive_c/Program\ Files\ \(x86\)/Spitfire\ Audio
$ WINEPREFIX=$SPITFIRE wine ./Spitfire\ Audio.exe
Ubuntu, Mixbus32C; acoustic blues / country / jazz

I started Reaper from the terminal but it still won't open EZKeys 2 correctly.
