I need to find a way to import multiple Midi drum sequence files into Zoom R24

Greetings all,
I need to find a way to import multiple Midi drum sequence files into Zoom R24, each with the capacity to hold up to sixteen instruments. There is already software out there, but I'd rather make my own using the free and open-source language Java.
Although I am mostly successful in deciphering the meaning of bytes in Zoom R24.seq files, I am in need of assistance in deciphering instrument notes and converting Midi notes to R24 format.
Hydrogene is my go-to for making empty strings and exporting them to midi files. The R24's LCD screen isn't as user-friendly as it is on a computer.
My expertise is available to anyone who wants it.
