Does anyone have information about the compatibility of this combination with Linux. I'm using an AVL-MXe 23.1 "Enlightened" at the moment.
I was thinking of updating the machine in these parts. Does changing parts require reinstalling Linux?

Changing parts shouldn't require reinstalling Linux. I'm running a Ryzen 7 7840HS that works nicely with Linux so I reckon a Ryzen 9 7950X3D should work too as they were released at about the same time. Not sure about the GPU though, my notebook has a 780M and it doesn't work properly yet, can't use hardware acceleration, I'm getting frequent crashes when that's enabled.

I ended up ordering:
AMD Ryzen 9 7900X, AM5, 4.7 GHz, 12-Core
Asus TUF GAMING B650-PLUS
Kingston 64GB (4 x 16GB) Fury Beast DDR5, 6000MHz
We'll see how this goes, next week.

The machine is now assembled. The latest version of Avlinux MXe was installed without any problems. the machine works like a ready-made product bought from a store. At least Atdour and Mixbus run really smoothly. Promising start with AMD iron.
