I have had great success using an MAudio Profire 610 (same as 2626) using Ubuntu 22.04 on a laptop. However on my desktop Jack will not load the interface. It does show under the stock Pulse sound (until I blacklisted it, necessary because of this viewtopic.php?p=162262#p162262). But no go with JAck. Any ideas?
Here's what Jack spits out:
Code: Select all
JackShmReadWritePtr::~JackShmReadWritePtr - Init not done for -1, skipping unlock
JackShmReadWritePtr::~JackShmReadWritePtr - Init not done for -1, skipping unlock

Got it working (the GUI hangs) but it is working.
I did the following:
-loaded a Low LAtency Kernel
-In Synaptic, I added the packages "libffado-dev" and "multimedia-firewire"
Not sure which brought it to working. I sure wish FFADO had a little more information on their website.

Update: got QJackCtl to work finally as well. It seems to not like the startup script I had running to bridge ALSA MIDI.
a2jmidid -e
BUT... I also uninstaalled (via Synaptic) all related packages to FFADO and Jack and reinstalled. I'm not sure what fixed the problem or if it will return. For now, I have to run
a2jmidid -e
In the terminal manually after starting Jack.

Try using a2jmidi -e &, so with the ampersand at the end. Otherwise QjackCtl gets stuck on the command and doesn't move further. By adding the ampersand the command is being sent to the background so QjackCtl can continue.

Wow! And thank you! That's how I have it setup on the laptop that runs. But I never would have spotted that detail. That's the problem. All good now. Thank you for your help!!!
