... and recently of course that charming young Italian @sofia-m who didn't actually exist

Wait, what? And perhaps more importantly: should I be deleting that piano SFZ I downloaded from a stranger's website?

Question is moral. They are created with Pianoteq, and violating their license. Functionally they are as good as they were before this hoax was revealed.

So this makes me sad.
I'll be missing Jeffg.
He's been around here like "always"
He's been a great contributor to the linux-musician community, lots of sample editing works.
I'll be missing his posts. I'll be missing his sense of humor. I'll be missing his way with words. I'll be missing his attitude.
I believe kicking him out was a mistake.

Like Jeff himself pointed out, there is a silence filter built in in the forum, it's not hard to use.

Let the banjos play a sad tribute in Jeff minor.

(and yes, I do get that as a moderator at times you just get too much)

My mother tongue is swedish. Running KXstudio on Xubuntu 22.04. No wine. No whine. But beers.

Like I pointed out for Jeff, it does not work:

  • You don't want to silence someone who has also good content
  • Silencing will remove annoying stuff from your eyes, but not for others. Someone new stepping in and looking 'this forum looks venomous, I don't waste my time here' and we just lost new valuable member.

Only proper way is that people behave, and don't fill discussion with garbage.
