About a year ago just the first phrase of this came to me quite out of the blue. At the time I couldn't think of anyway to develop it, but fortunately saved it anyway. Then I dug it out while looking for something to use for the KVR October contest. Conveniently, this wanted just a single melody line, optionally with percussion. Such a narrow focus enabled me to produce a full-length track, but once I submitted it, I then returned to it and was able to expand it to the full track now on bandcamp here:- https://willgodfrey.bandcamp.com/track/sonja

Listening back, there is nothing I'd want to change.

Oh, and the name? I haven't a clue. Like that first phase it just appeared in my mind from nowhere.

Now that's a very very beautiful song folderol!

I hear a very profound sadness in this melody and the warmth is certainly at it's place.

Well done :!:

Not really a change, but reprising part of the fine intro flute solo at the end of the song might be nice.
Sonja might like it. Lots of nice sounds, I think from a synth with which you enjoy a friendly bias 8)
The song has an eastern European feel to it, as if surviving a difficult winter alone.

I also enjoy your 'Gone Fishin' ' and 'Out There' songs, very relaxing. They remind me of Christian Henson's chats from on the hiking trails.
Have you made his aquaintance, perchance?
Cheers

Very nice track with great synth sound design. I love the slightly exotic scale used.

A thoughtful, beautiful melody, wonderful! :!: The meadows and forests imaged with the music, and it was as if a forest fairy was about to emerge from the oak grove :)
