Hello from Kubuntu!

Hi! You can call me Rin (she/her). I've been a musician since my teens. Most of my experience was in session work before 2020, when I started to get more into audio engineering/producing. My previous job was actually how I started using desktop Linux- I worked for a small team that offered b2b software/hardware solutions for studios and venues. Even though we offered software that was compatible, we didn't have any established support for Linux users.

Over the last year I've been trying to escape Mac OS, and audio production is the last thing I still use my old setup for. I was inspired to devote more time to migrating when some of my proprietary licenses "reset" somehow and forced me to use another activation.

It also wiped all of my presets on the affected plugins and messed up part of a vocal chain.

:D so yeah, here I am.

Well you won't have to worry about such wipe-outs on Linux - welcome form me too :)

Welcome. What DAW do you use or do you want to use?

Thanks! I have the most experience with Ableton, but I have a Bitwig license and don't mind taking the time to better learn the workflow. I've done a few small projects, just haven't been confident enough to use it in production.
