[Solved] ZynAddSubFX with Midi Controller
Finally got a midi controller and trying to play it using Zynaddsub. Got my M-Audio USB UNO midi cable hooked up with the midisport-firmware installed, but Zynaddsub doesn't play when I hit the keys on my keyboard. Both my channels are set at 1. Little help?

Re: ZynAddSubFX with Midi Controller
Found solution here.
- Go into Terminal and enter this command: aconnect -lio
This will bring up your port numbers. Example:
client 20: 'MidiSport 1x1' [type=kernel]
0 'MidiSport 1x1 MIDI 1'
client 130: 'ZynAddSubFX' [type=user]
0 'ZynAddSubFX '
- Then in Terminal, enter this command to connect midi device to Zynaddsub:
aconnect [midi device #] [ZynAddSubFX #]
My example: aconnect 20 130
- Go into Terminal and enter this command: aconnect -lio
This will bring up your port numbers. Example:
client 20: 'MidiSport 1x1' [type=kernel]
0 'MidiSport 1x1 MIDI 1'
client 130: 'ZynAddSubFX' [type=user]
0 'ZynAddSubFX '
- Then in Terminal, enter this command to connect midi device to Zynaddsub:
aconnect [midi device #] [ZynAddSubFX #]
My example: aconnect 20 130

You could have simply connected them through QJackCtl oder Patchage, I suppose.

After hooking up ZASFX to your MIDI controller maybe this page could be of use: http://zynaddsubfx.sourceforge.net/doc_3.html
