KVR August Contest

Arram Koth is a fabled ancient city somewhere in deep space. Many have searched. Few have found it, and even fewer return.

The concert was a one-off affair.
The residents of all known civilizations were invited to send musicians to the city, and free travel was offered for the less advanced. To the disappointment of many, the denizens of a small blue planet failed to respond to any form of contact.

Here is the finale where a representative of all the bands came together in an improvisation. Obviously it took a little while for them all to get in the 'zone'!

Very rich, delicate, and powerful sounds in one tune! Handy for interplanetary communicationss! Is there some formant sound shaping going on? I don't see a formant editor in this version 2.2, but I think I'm hearing it subtley in some places. (pulled an all nighter, gotta take a nap now!)
Cheers

Thanks. I had a lot of fun with this one :)
Yoshimi does indeed have a rather detailed formant editor available with any of the filters. Three of the patches I used on this have formant filters. The most obvious being 'Yiee'. By default Yoshimi's filter are analog, but with a small drop-down menu where you'll also see formant and state-variable options. Select 'Formant' and the menu below is replaced by an edit button, which you then use to open the formant window.
P.S. this is all described in the user guide :)

Fantastic! Good listen it music, nice work!

News! Fresh News! Last week, a UFO fell into a sandbox on the playground, from where the bodies of three aliens with no signs of life fell out. The ambulance arrived and took this material for research, during which it was established that the aircraft and even the extraterrestrial brain of alien cyborgs worked under the control of the Linux OS
