Scarlett 18i20 2nd Gen and Bitwig not seeing Audio Device

Hello all, new to the forum. Migrating to Linux from Win10- and learning a lot here.

On ZorinsOS - Ubuntu 20.04 LTS derivative - Kernel 5.15

I am currently using the Scarlett 18i20 2nd Gen as my main audio outputs for the computer. They are working great paired with some KRK 5s 2Gen.
I have enabled the drivers via /etc/modprob.d/scarlett.conf

options snd_usb_audio vid=0x1235 pid=0x8201 device_setup=1,1,1,1

Bringing up Alsamixer in terminal allows me to select the Scarlett 18i20 and adjust volumes (not the main volumes which are locked to hardware at the moment, how do I enable software control?)

lsusb shows : Bus 003 Device 007: ID 1235:8201 Focusrite-Novation Scarlett 18i20 USB

In Bitwig>Settings>Audio - [Alsa, Jack, Pipewire, Pulse] are available, but none allow to select the interface or configure outputs.

Bitwig seems to not be seeing the interface, and I am wondering what I can check to see why this might be?

Also looking to figure out if I can install alsa-scarlett-gui with this distro/kernel? I have had issues installing gtk4 and libdev4. Maybe this has to do with the age of my kernel?

Thank you so much for any advice or links to relevant information!

I ended up following this guide which helped me setup Jack and potentially allow more resources to Bitwig and lower the latency. I still have a lot to learn, and I am sure there are other ways to do this, but I now have sound coming out of Bitwig. Midi instruments are coming out perfectly. I have also tried using a microphone through input 1 and received input into Bitwig. Much further testing is required, but I'm off to a good start.

Hopefully this helps someone.

Good luck, and let me know if you are in the same boat, I am happy to help if I can.

Cheers!
