Did artix_linux_user leave the forum on his own, or was he banned? I haven't visited for a couple weeks.

Excellent! Now the forums may return to sanity now that artix and that other disruptive force have exited.
I don't think content should be allowed to be removed though. We don't accede to requests to do that at a couple of other forums where I am an admin.

I think EU regulations say that you have to remove all if requested by user?

Hadn't heard that. Maybe it is so for EU. Fair enough for personal details to be removed, but removing forum posts loses the flow of topics and would be a disproportionate burden on admins.
I'm in Australia anyway.

I agree with you, but regulations are what they are. Sure, I don't know if that matters here, because there is no registered entity operating this forum. At least I bet for real it does not matter.

For sure it doesn't really matter. It's not as though we know his real name or anything. I mean, there must be at least ten people in the world who use Artix Linux!

The removal was not in compliance to forum policy or governmental regulation. It was simply a reasonable request by the user and I complied with the request.

I'll admit the posts were often not my cup of tea and difficult to parse but elsewhere he/she/they said they weren't doing very well so I hope the decision to leave here will take things in the right direction well-being wise..

I am also no fan of unnecessary disruption and certainly debates and discourse can get out of hand, I just hope that a healthy sense of humour doesn't get lost along the way.
