Hi, still trying to wrap my head around ALSA and JACK and all the fun that entails.

I have a few USB audio adapters that I have bridged into JACK with ajbridge a2j and j2a. They show up in raysession with generic names, like "zita-j2a-01" and similar. Not very helpful. I see that in QJackCtl's Graph that it is possible to rename a device . . . but I like raysession better, if only because midi entries can be turned off (I don't use MIDI). Is there some tricky way that I can get custom labels into raysession?

It's not possible to rename ports in RaySession directly, because theses names would be forgotten the next time these port appears.
You can set JACK 'pretty-name' to ports, for exemple with jack_property CLI.

for example:
jack_property PORT_UUID -s key http://jackaudio.org/metadata/pretty_name NEW_NAME

replacing PORT_UUID with the port UUID (you can find it in port properties dialog), and NEW_NAME with the name you wants.

If you don't use MIDI, you can also show only AUDIO ports in RaySesssion.
