Can't install requirements for running Pianoteq

Post by leekaiwei »

I want to use Pianoteq in Wine and so I've been trying to install Wineasio. When I type 'make', this error comes:

pkg-config --exists jack
make: *** [jack] Error 1

I'm not sure what that means but I guessed that JACK was installed and so I attempted to uninstall it in Synaptic Package Manager. Something uninstalled...I think it was JACK lol but error still comes up.

I tried using a VST Host instead and went for DSSI-VST. When type 'make' this time, this error comes up:

wineg++ -m32 -Ivestige -Wall -fPIC remotepluginclient.cpp -c -o remotepluginclient.w32.o
remotepluginclient.cpp: In constructor ‘RemotePluginClient::RemotePluginClient()’:
remotepluginclient.cpp:41: error: ‘sprintf’ was not declared in this scope
remotepluginclient.cpp:50: error: ‘perror’ was not declared in this scope
remotepluginclient.cpp:64: error: ‘perror’ was not declared in this scope
remotepluginclient.cpp:78: error: ‘perror’ was not declared in this scope
winegcc: g++ failed.
make: *** [remotepluginclient.w32.o] Error 2

So I went and searched for a Debian package and found one but it is a very old version. How do I use it anyway?

Thanks

This is not the right place for that question on this forum, this is for developers questions and suggestions

Is there a particular reason you want to run it under Wine ? Registered users can get all versions of the program for the one price.

Oh yeh, as s32 said, you'll probably want to repost/reply in another section of the forum.

I've been using the Linux version of Pianoteq for a while. It's fantastic, and it runs beautifully with JACK. Very impressive software for musicians.

Best,
