Is anyone here using this interface? There's a decent deal on one locally but I need to know if it will work under Linux. I have heard of some driver issues with the Tascam US series so I thought I would check.
Apparently there was a post in 2016 from another user here who reported they were unable to get their 20X20 working either. Appears to be unresolved. This may be a firmware restriction.

On page 2 of the manual for this specific model it states that dedicated software must be installed on the computer to use the hardware. You may be able to run the software in wine. The only supported systems are windows and osx according to the manual.
The Tascam US 16X08 is supported very well and has a good performance. Look this video of Venn Stone.
That changes everything. Has anyone compared the Tascam mic pre's with the Focusrite Scarlett's. I wouldn't expect much audible difference if any but just in case...
