What is the difference between Yoshimi LV2 and Yoshimi-Multi LV2?

Post by onefang »

I've been searching trying to find out the difference between these two.

MusE allows me to choose both as synths. In the dialog for selecting them there is a URL field which lists http://yoshimi.sourceforge.net/lv2_plugin and http://yoshimi.sourceforge.net/lv2_plugin_multi though neither of those pages actually exists.

I prefer to be known as a figment of the 'nets imagination, living in the future, waiting for the rest of you to catch up.

Yoshimi Multi is used to record orgies.

Folderol made it by request of raboof.

Hmmm

"multi" allows you to use individual audio L/R outputs for the first 16 parts as well as the Main L/R one, so each track can have independent further processing and routing. This is far more efficient than running 16 different instances.

So I can record 16 different orgies, er I mean run 16 different instruments in a single instance, play each via their own MIDI channel, then feed each to it's own audio post processing?

Sounds like just what I want.
