Hello friends
I am delighted to be in this community.... I've been using Linux for years and right now I want to make my music with the computer; the truth is that right now I'm a little bit lost...
I need to know if I should install a dedicated OS, or reorganize the one I have now, if I should put a proper sound card.
I have to investigate JACK, because now for me it is unknown territory....
I have a task ahead of me!
Two guitars, an amplifier, a cat that hates harmonicas and a vice for music that I can't get rid of...
Thanks in advance, I would like, if possible, to contribute and help, like everyone else.
Greetings from Madrid ;D

Probably not, unless you have performance issues with your current distro.

Maybe get a decent sound interface. Depends on what you want to do.

Skip this for now, you might not need it.
Do you know what DAW you want to use?

Thank you very much!
and thanks for the help... Regarding the DAW I want: I would like to start with some free software, although I don't know if it is very suitable.
To learn the basics and do simple things.... Is there any DAW like that?

Yes indeed, there are many suitable free options. Please read my previous response. The short story is that if you primarily want to record audio, try Ardour. If you primarily want to arrange MIDI, try QTractor.
