Field Recordings 3

Post by caprenter »

Hello

Field Recordings 3 is out now and up on Bandcamp.
https://theargentgrub.bandcamp.com/albu ... cordings-3

You should be able to listen free as much as you like. I have some Bandcamp codes if people want a free download - anyone from this forum can have one, just get in touch.

This is a collection of manipulated field recordings combined with musical ideas - no singing this time!

I make these tracks to share a love of sounds, rhythms, and melodies, as I hear and experience them. They’re also made as a reminder to myself that time taken to stop, listen, and to reward my focus, is a good thing.

Using FOSS to make this was an absolute joy. I’ve credited plugin makers and other FOSS software that was used on the Bandcamp page.

Also a big thank you to the whole community - boards like this are invaluable for help, inspiration, support, and so on.

Thanks.

I like it and it generates a nice atmosphere, but I definitely would put a high pass filter on the master track. There's too much rumble going on.

Thanks @lilith

That's a good comment and has really got me thinking. I have intentionally left some of that rumble in (but maybe too much)

Alrhough the field recordings are manipulated in this release, the audio of the original recoding is deliberately not 'cleaned'up' first -but on reflection that could be a fairly bizarre arbitary decision, bearing in mind that I'm then happy to pass it through e.g Cecilia

Always good to have feedback that makes me go away and think. Thanks..
