Hello !
thank you for being here in this forum - first i want to introduce myself !
My name is Andrew ,54 years old and i'm new with Linux and I'm interested to make Music with Linux .
I tried several Distros (SuseTumbleweed,Manjaro,MX,Fedora 37 Gnome,Fedora 37 with KDE and Linux Mint 21.1 with Cinamon) before and for me is Linux Mint the version which i now use on an Acer Laptop with Intel i5 (12th Gen.) , 16 GB RAM and an external 27" Monitor .
I'm very interested to make Music with Linux and I need help
There are several Midi Keyboards on the Market and i'm looking for one to make my first steps - i want to pay only 110 € and i do not know which is working with Linux Mint and open source Programs .
i search in the World Wide Web and YouTube and found this Forum
greetings
Andrew

M-Audio works. Probably most basic ones will just work. Got mine (49 keys) from Amazon for less than 100 euros.

Guten tag! Two of my great-great-grandparents immigrated to the United States from Germany, so I like to say that I'm 1/8 German. Some day I would like to travel there.
I'll give another thumbs-up for m-audio midi controllers. I've used two different models and had no trouble with either of them.

Servus from over the hills in Tirol. I'd also recommend M-Audio - I have an Oxygen 49 and it works fine.

Their basic function (sending key and pedal information) is no problem. They are USB Class Compliant so they work with Linux.
I have a M-Audio CODE61, a Studiologic SL88Grand and a Korg microKEY.
Some vendors offer software to configure the keyboard. That can be a problem. To configure the Korg microKEY I need a (virtual) Windows with Korg's configuration program. The M-Audio CODE61 and the Studiologic SL88Grand can be configured directly without additional software.
