Oh yes, there are great songs! The variety is quite mind boggling. :)

Since I only saw/heard the first 5 or so contestants, I have refrained from voting, but I'm still curious: are the results in yet?

Hi @Impostor , yes the results were presented at the end of the show. My song came in as number 14 of 17 with a total of eight votes. :) Since print can't reproduce it: I'm neither unhappy nor angry about that. The song was there and apparently got some love in the comments which is worth far more than reaching a top spot.
Thanks to everyone who listened or even voted.
Best wishes, Jeanette

Ah, it is what it is. Thing with contests with such a small numbers of voters is that winning is mostly a matter of who brought the largest number of friends. At least, back when friends of mine played in bands, and participated in local talent shows, that's always how it went.

In deed, that appeared to be the case. Though even considering that, the results were... surprising. It's funny how these things can go.
Technical issues aside, it was a fun night.

Very interesting/enjoyable choice and performance of instruments and ambience. The rhythm part is also a keeper. I think the instruments
could be a little louder in places, without interfering with the vocals. I think the overall feel and theme would fit in a lot of modern movies,
with the underlying musical mystery and intrigue. Very cool!
Cheers

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f-ERmWxPFi0 - It's nice song and I watch with interesting! Very good, it's better that only sountrack and empty color-background. But there is a place for the development of video editing: add transitions, improve the quality of photos (shoot not on a phone, but on a full-frame camera on tripod, working with colors in photo-video-editor), etc. Like see your places...

Hi @psyocean ,
yes, I know that a lot can be improved. Not by me though. I'm blind. Almost no sight at all. :) Don't worry, I didn't take it wrong. You are right after all. It was fun to get footage for this. Perhaps with the right software, I could at least do good fades and blends. I haven't found anything simple so far.

The sound you get from samples is just amazing, how do you do it! I dislike them even in many commercial records, but you make them sound credible :D

Aww, thank you @Basslint ! I think a lot of credit must be given to early Linux developments and my listeners with discerning ears. The latter always told me when something was really bad or good in very constructive ways, so I can learn from it. The former, especially with the fiirst soundfonts and rudimentary other sample sets required to find ways to really make those instruments come alive. Once you apply these to good sounds the results can be awesome. As awkward as such techniques can sometimes be to learn, I find they enrich arrangements and performance. the same goes for techniques to program synth patches. there are so many tricks used by 70s or 80s sound designers to work around minimal or simply lacking features that enhance patches on modern synths to amazing effects.
Thanks a lot!
