It's a clipper, can do both soft and hard clipping.

Just tried it. GUI is decent and seems to work OK but has noticeable distortion at ceiling level more than about 10dB. Tried different clip and oversample settings. The VST3 seems to be more reliable than the LV2 - I managed to crash Carla and bypass didn't work with LV2 trying to bypass whereas bypass worked fine with VST3.
Think I'll stick to x42-dpl for straight peak limiting.

This looks pretty good, I've been looking for a clipper where you can see what's happening.

@sunrat I think the distortion would be expected wouldn't it? I'll have to give it a test to see what you mean.

Probably I meant -10dB. Of course if a signal was +10dB I would expect distortion. :? :wink:
"Ceiling" in this plugin appears to be the same as "threshold" in most compressors/limiters.

Distortion is what I would expect from clippers honestly. There's a reason we have clippers and limiters, each one has a different use.
