Behringer FCB1010 and Rakarrack

I'm looking at midi foot controllers and was wondering if anyone has used this combo?
I'm mainly interested in setting the 10 switches to a selection of bank presets.
What midi > USB connector would you recommend?

I have this one:

It's flexible enough for my needs (Program Change, Control Change). I control Qtractor with it.
Slightly annoying:
It's not recognized by my computer when it's already connected and my computer boots. I have to switch it on after my computer has been booted.
