No Budget Orchestral Solos

Post by j_e_f_f_g »

The orchestral solo instruments (clarinet, flute, oboe, trumpet, violin, etc) are now released.

I've slightly changed the installer to eliminate packaging duplicate files in every collection.

You need to download the zip file nb_common.zip and unzip it to a directory, for example Home. This will create a single folder named NoBudgetCommon containing numerous files.

Then for the solo instruments, download solo_plugins.zip. Also you need the wave files. 44KHz sample rate are the two files solo_strings44khz.zip and solo_brass44khz.zip. 48KHz are the files solo_strings48khz.zip and solo_brass48khz.zip. Unzip these 3 (or 5) files to create a single folder named NoBudgetSolo. Unzip to the same directory as NoBudgetCommon (ie, Home). Don't put NoBudgetCommon inside the NoBudgetSolo folder, or vice versa. Leave them side by side in the same directory.

Open a terminal window, cd inside the NoBudgetSolo folder and type the following two commands:

Code: Select all

sudo chmod 755 ./install_solo.sh
sudo ./install_solo.sh

Follow the prompts of the installer.

After installing, you can delete the 2 folders. But you may want to save the "docs" folder in NoBudgetCommon, and the exe folder in NoBudgetSolo (if you made the standalone VSTs).

In the future, you will not have to download nb_common.zip again (unless the base libraries are updated).

Next up, are the bass guitars, and General MIDI drumkit.
