I've pushed the source for guitarix.vst Linux version to github.
guitarix.vst is a VST3 wrapper for guitarix using JUCE.
It allow to load your guitarix presets into the DAW of your choice.
here you see it in action
This is still a alpha version, it may contain bugs and/or may change in the future
for more information visit the project page. https://github.com/brummer10/guitarix.vst
I could build it, but it is blacklisted in Qtractor and in Carla.
I ve found out that there are some, maybe 10-15 vst3 plugins which are blacklisted.
At least carla have a log window. When doing a rescan for plugins there should be a message what happen.
Also Qtractor have a log window below, when scan for plugs, there should be messages if something goes wrong.
btw. do you see any warnings when compile guitarix.vst?
Here it works flawless in Qtracor, Carla, Ardour and Reaper.
while scanning qtractor doesn't show much... sorry for that... but if it ever gets to the blacklist is mostly due to a nasty plugin crash or it never exits cleanly on scan (which for vst2/3 of course means a sane dlopen/dlclose cycle over a brief sequence).
To simplify the build I've implemented the needed Juce modules now in the repository and set them to be used on default. It may be that some older juce modules didn't work as expected, as Juce tend to change things a lot. So best may be to use the modules I've used to develop this.
I've also update the dependency list on the project page, it shows now clear package names for the required library's.
Hope that help.
Thank you!!!!! I really hope these binaries work in Fedora!!
For the case not, there are now listed the dependencies on Fedora/Red Hat based distros, according to a contribution I receive, on the project page.
Also, to let yea all know, I receive a contribution from musiclab, to replace the factory presets. Within the next guitarix release you are all could looking forward to some professional created presets for a couple of genres.
