Steinway Model B SFZ and Kontakt formats at Pianobook 5gig

Post by glowrak guy »

The samplist provides a very nice writeup

https://www.pianobook.co.uk/packs/the-e ... s-model-b/

The samplist has an interesting video walkthrough (and some Peanuts music at the end):

Six sfz files are provided, for the different mic arrangements used. I'm using
the 'ambisonic level' sfz followed by an EQ/amp plugin.

The extracted folder is 6.5 gig after the Kontakt portions have been moved
to their location. That Kontakt version looks like this in linux Reaper daw:

The same samplist has sampled a handmade Yamaha grand, again, sfz and kontakt formats
and a video walkthrough.

...and a Fazioli with some VR action...better watch the video, way over my head!

I like to adjust pianos and their space, with the Yamaha S6, I used the 1977 amp/eq/filter, and the Raum reverb.

Thanks for posting those! I most often use the Linux Sampler Maestro Concert Grand, which I quite like. (It is a bit "dark", but is sounds quite good after some EQing.) I look forward giving these a try! Maybe these will save me from wanting to buy Pianoteq...

I've never used Kontakt before, so I will likely try to stick with the SFZ, but maybe it is time to give it a try.
