Re: Prehear
Can you please be more detailed? I am not sure I understand how to create this kind of setup.
Re: Prehear
hi there,
Sorry for the delay, I am too busy with my newborn these days
alsa_out is a tool that comes with jack1. You can launch it from the terminal so that it connects to the extra soundcard you want to show up in the jack graph. It will be visible as an extra client with playback ports that you can connect to whatever jack ports you want. So you can definitely use this tool to hook another sound card in your usual jack setup and use it as e.g. a monitoring interface.
in a similar fashion, alsa_in can bring extra input ports if you extra soundcard has such inputs.
for jack2, things are bit different. Jack2 uses an in-process client called audioadapter.
It can be launched this way, as far as I remember:
I don't recall how to specify which device the audiodapter should hook to.
Hope this helps

Re: Prehear
What distro are you using Louigi? Ubuntu doesn't have the alsa_in and alsa_out tools.
And Thorgal, congrats!!
